Tabs no longer saving, browser.showQuitWarning set as true.
So I closed out of Firefox today, and I noticed that I did not get the message asking me if I wanted to Save and Quit, Cancel, or Quit, even though I have browser.showQuitWarning set as true in about:config. I have never had this problem until today, and as soon as I quit Firefox, I lost my apps tab, all my previously opened tabs, and all of my tab groups.
I am not running in Private Browsing mode, and I do not have the option to restore my previous session via Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session or from about:home.
I'm running Firefox 5.0 on Windows Vista x64. Any help would be great.

Check and tell if its working.
I've never used Clear Recent History before so that shouldn't be the problem. My session is restoring now, however I don't get the Save and Quit button when I try to close Firefox.
Is it possible that when I recently ran my disk defragment utility it caused this? That is the only thing I can think of that could have possibly adjusted my settings.
Save and Quit has been removed from Firefox 5.0
Instead of using Save and Quit option you can use ALT + F -> Exit
This way all your opened Windows and Tabs are saved and when you next Start Firefox, there will be a Restore Previous Session button OR you can go to History Menu and select Restore Previous Session feature.
Check and tell if its working.

If Save and Quit was removed, why was it working properly for me for about a month of using 5.0? My tabs have been restoring when I quit recently, but I feel more comfortable when I have the option to save, oh well I guess.
Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows.
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

So I have "Clear Browsing History when Firefox closes" enabled, and previously with "Save and Quit," I was able to save the session only when I wanted it to, without having to continuously saving History (which I won't). Recently I realized that I cannot use "Save and Quit" without enabling History. Is there nothing I can do about this other than (a) Enabling History, or (b) using Session Manager add-on?
1) When you want Firefox to Save your Session, just Exit Firefox (click Firefox button and click Exit or File Menu -> Exit)
- This way Firefox will remember your previously opened Windows & Tabs.
2) When you don't want Firefox to remember your previously opened Windows & Tabs, Close Firefox by individually closing all tabs & windows (by clicking the x close button)
Check and tell if its working.
