The arrows on either side of the tab area won't go away. They don't show up on other systems with firefox installed and they don't show up in the toolbar customization area. Any idea how to get rid of them?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
