Running Firefox 5 on XP SP3 desktop PC. On sites which display courier lower case font, some of the characters appear as small squares. When copy/pasted to a word document all of the characters display correctly therefore the site is OK.

Is that the basic Courier or Courier New as used by default for monospace?

That's both. I tried several fonts. It's strange but I am running exactly the same software in the same arrangement on my laptop and it works fine.

A bookmarklet to test a specific font, you can change the font family and add other characters if necessary.

data:text/html,
Courier<br>
<font face="Courier" size="20">abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ</font><br>
Courier New<br>

Don't understand what that means. Thanks anyway. I neglected to mention that the problem only occurs on some sites. The main one being http://www.a2zwordfinder.com/crossword.html which I use for solving crosswords. The recovered text is the problem.
