Firefox windows in the background would redraw itself on top of the active window/application blocking view. Only way to temporarily fix is to activate a different window to force a redraw.

e.g Browsing websites while firefox download window in background is running. It would constantly redraw itself over the website.

I haven't found a solution yet. Been using Google Chrome more now because of this and how slow firefox has become.

This has been an issue with me since FF 6.x (now using 8.x).

This defect seriously disrupts work. I routinely click links, an when the new FF window appears tab back to the original to hit the escape key (links in email mainly).

What happens is that if the server has yet to set the initial header, FF will take the focus back while I'm hitting the escape key, which stops the page loading. This forces me to hit the refresh key as well as tabbing back to the email and hitting escape.

Given how long this defect has existed, and how the common online 'solutions' have no effect, it compels me to switch to a different browser.
