Can I create a "global" user profile, so that everyone logging in (to Win7) with have the same homepages in Firefox?
This is a school situation, and we want to set Firefox to have 3 tabs as homepages; this will help the students a lot. Is there a way I can create a "global" or "uber" profile that will apply to all users who login to our Windows network and then launch Firefox? The lab has new PCs running Win7, but we also have classroom computers running Win XP SP3. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify default values.
Place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you also find the file channel-prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg.
pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg"); pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // use this to disable the byte-shift

You can use these functions in mozilla.cfg:
defaultPref(); // set new default value pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
