Not a Firefox support issue.

If you are using a dialup connection, contact your service provider and ask about how they set the "idle timeout" for their service. I also had that problem with Call Waiting disconnecting me even when a 2nd call wasn't trying to "get thru". I had to disable Call Waiting when I went online, by adding a "code" to the front of the number string being used to connect to my internet service.
