After trying to do a google search through my google plugin. Nothing happens and the page continues to auto refresh. I tried to re-install the browser and the same thing happens again. When I try to disable addon's, a new tab opens to show the active/inactive add-ons and the auto-refresh happens on that tab too.

The google plugin is actually the search bar that you mention. I have no way to view the running plugins/add-ons because it opens a new tab and goes into the auto refresh mode .

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
