I like to keep my drop-down search box short (only five sites). I accidentally clicked on a different site I frequent so that it appears there now also. I'm able to delete it, but whenever I return to the site now using bookmarks it automatically reappears in the drop-down history so that I have to delete it again. How do I stop a bookmarked site from reappearing in the search box every time I return to it?

If you've set the location bar to only show history items then you need to remove that site (URL) from the history to reset the visit count to 0. You should be able to do this if you open the history in the sidebar and sort by visited date.
