Whenever I save a bookmark, instead of linking to the page I wanted, it links it to a random url in my history.
Every time I try and save a bookmark, the bookmark I just saved sends me to a random URL from my history instead of the tab I saved it from.

Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thank you.
This did not help, it only reset my New Tab page.
can you reinsert your bookmarks. Export as html and import as html
I can do that, but it didn't change anything.

hi, did you try deleting your history and then let it rebuild, also can you try or have you tried the import/export method or restore from a backup.
I don't need to restore any book marks, I need the bookmark saving process to work, exporting and importing won't help.
It could be a problem with your places.sqlite file, refer to the links below for troubleshooting.
I deleted the places.sqlite file, now I can save bookmarks and now my history is updating properly, thank you very much. I had this problem for a few months, so this will now make my life easier.
