I have set up sync and I can see that it works as the password is auto filled for some sites. It doesn't work for a few other sites. I tried using addons like RememberPass with no results.

I am currently on version 25.0.1 (on both mobile and desktop)

Android version: 4.1.2

HI ashwinravianadan,

  • Are you using RememberPass on both devices?
  • You can manage custom settings for passwords under Firefox>Preferences...>Security> Exceptions.. and here will be a list of all the saved passwords. You can manage remembering passwords here. Also make sure that check box "Remember passwords for sites" is checked. Please make sure the list is the same on both devices as well.

If they are not, please not that passwords are not stored in private windows. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=823941

If they are Please provide the troubleshooting information from both devices and I will file a bug for your set up. Please do the following:

  • Click the Firefox button at the top left, then click the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information from the submenu. If you don't have a Firefox button, click the Help menu at the top and select Troubleshooting Information from the menu.

Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.

  • At the top of the page, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
  • Now, go back to your forum post and click inside the reply box. Press Ctrl+V to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

If you need further information about the Troubleshooting information page, please read the article Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi... since bookmarks and history were synced I had assumed that the passwords were synced as well. I couldn't verify this since Firefox on android doesn't show saved passwords. later I installed an add-on which does just that. it became clear that the passwords weren't synced even though password sync was selected on all devices.

resetting sync helped solve the issue.

thank you once again.
