This has been going on for at least a year. Every time I update Firefox I hope the issue will be resolved, but if anything it's worse. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling. I reset. I turned off Hardware acceleration. I updated all of my plugins and Firefox. I tried Safe Mode. I turned off protected mode in Flash. It has something to do with flash, I'm sure. I used flash blocker and it seemed to help, but not totally. I'll open a tab and it will freeze. Says (Not Responding). Little green processing circle will freeze as well. This happens with flash intensive sites, which these days is most sites. I tried using IE and the sites worked. It's gotten to the point that I actually have to stop using Firefox. What's the deal? Why is it STILL like this? The only resolution is to open task manager and close Firefox.

Your crash report shows that it crashed because of Flash. Please try disabling hardware acceleration in Flash.

Try disabling Hardware Acceleration.

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

You might also want to upgrade your Flash Player. It's a bit dated.

You should start a new thread for your question as it's not relevant here. (Go to /questions/new to make a new question) But looking at it shortly, I see something that could be problematic
it looks like user.js is currently active in Firefox. The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.

You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release. You can get to the profile folder below:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Show Folder

or

  • Go to about:support and click Show Folder next to Profile Directory.

Another thing to try would be to uninstall Advanced SystemCare Surfing Protection from your Firefox. (v29: The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Add-ons; v28 and below: Firefox button > Add-ons)

If my suggestions doesn't work, I strongly urge you to create a new thread at /questions/new
