I installed Classic Theme Restorer, but the orange button is still not on my titlebar.

I installed the new Firefox 29, but prefer the old UI, so I installed the "Classic Theme Restorer." The overall look of the UI is now back to the "classic" version (square tabs on bottom), but I cannot restore the classic big orange button to the upper left titlebar. There is a tiny gray Firefox button on the toolbar, but I would prefer the classic Big Orange Button. When I click on the tiny gray Firefox button, then go to "Options," the "Classic Theme Restorer" is shown. After clicking on this, the main menu shows "Application Menu." Directly under that, the selected choices are "Button on titlebar" and "Orange button color (default)." Despite those options being selected, that is not what is showing. I have restarted Firefox several times, and even rebooted my computer. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. I have tried searching every possible variant of this question and come up with nothing. What am I missing here?

There is a Classic Theme Restorer support thread over here.

You can also make suggestions for new or changed features in that thread.

If you click the setting for the color then you will see:

  • Only colored on titlebar and tabs toolbar!

I still do not see how to restore the Classic Big Orange Button. Please be specific. Yes, I could see the words "Only colored on titlebar and tabs toolbar! " but it was not an item that can be clicked on. I have selected "Button on titlebar (icon only)" and "Orange button color (default)" under the "Application Button" heading on the "Main" tab of Classic Theme Restorer.

This means that the Firefox menu button is only orange when you place it on the Tab bar (e.g. far left) or on the title bar and not when you place it on the Navigation Toolbar.

I understand what you are saying, but how do I place the button ON the titlebar? This is the entire crux of my problem. I cannot figure out how to put the button back on the upper left-hand side of the titlebar where it was for years and years in the classic UI.

I don't know for sure as I'm having some trouble with this Restorer addon myself, but I think you can't get the orange button to appear as it has at the left of the internet address field. I guess the Restorer addon took this feature off.

I don't know why that when ever there's a FF upgrade, more things that are working no longer work. Why they mess with functions we have gotten used to using, I wish I knew. I wish they would stop - I'm ready to not get any more upgrades - who know what will get messed up next???

You might want to go to the Restorer addon webpage and ask the question of the developers.
