How do I restore the nav arrows to the context menu? Why were they removed in the first place?!?

In previous versions, FOR YEARS, the firefox menu had "Back" and "Forward" arrows at the top. After the latest upgrade, these have been removed.

Chrome still has navigation on the context menu, maybe I should just switch? It's easier than fighting years' worth of usage habits.

Type about:customizing<Enter> in the address bar. In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but some icons are locked in place.

If you can't find it, let us know.

Don't you see the Navigation Toolbar with the location/address bar and the Back and Forward buttons to the left of it.

Current Firefox versions show icons for Back and Forward and Reload and a star to bookmark the current page in the context menu.

Don't you see those icons in the right-click context menu?

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to customize the appearance in Firefox 29 and later and make it look like older Firefox versions.

  • You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
  • You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)

The theme restorer seems to have solved this, but I find it completely idiotic that Mozilla would remove a feature only to leave it to be restored by a 3rd party.
