How do I add a Right Click Mouse Menu for clicking "UNDO" *and* "REDO" button for editing text under Firefox?
How do I add a Right-Click Mouse Menu for displaying an "UNDO" AND "REDO" button for editing text back and forth under Firefox without losing or forgetting edits like I can under Google Chrome? -- OMG I said it dinnt -- SORRY!

Glad you stuck with this issue cuz I pulled a real boner trying to fix it. I was totally clueless about the main menu for *both* UNDO and REDO. If you recall I was trying to install a right-click menu for both UNDO and REDO, and totally dismissed the notion that they could be under Edit on the Main damn Menu which of course they were and worked like a charm. THANKS again man, you're a real hero!

What do you mean by "without losing or forgetting edits"?
Are there particular types of forms you are looking to have these on?
When you edit in an ordinary text area like the one I'm typing in right now, there is an Undo item at the top of the right-click menu once there is something to undo. I actually never noticed it before.
I do not see any Redo item.
Over the years I have seen menu editor add-ons, but it has been so long that I am reluctant to recommend any of them in particular.
Temporary workarounds:
- My own habit is to use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+z (Undo) and Ctrl+y (Redo), which seem to work in most Windows applications
- If you display the classic menu bar, Undo and Redo are on the Edit menu -- you can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select Menu Bar there:
- right-click a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
- tap the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > View > Toolbars
- in Customize mode > Show/Hide Toolbars
Thanks Ill try your keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+z (Undo) and Ctrl+y (Redo) for most Windows apps, forgot all about 'em, hope they work, reminds me of the keyboard shortcuts i learned under WordStar about 30 years ago and still apply under most WP programs :-))
Btw You can only UNDO edits under Mozilla Firefox, but under Google Chrome you can "UNDO" *and* "REDO" edits back and forth with one click until you're happy with what you got. Without "UNDO" *and* "REDO" you can easily lose or forget what you just unDID.
Btw does everybody see the same queries or are they segregated by those 4 or 5 categories under Mozilla support Page? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/desktop/customize?fpa=1
Does everyone see the same questions after posting? There are a variety of filters, so I suppose it depends on what link you start from.
Re: My own habit is to use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+z (Undo) and Ctrl+y (Redo), which seem to work in most Windows applications.
I tried it but your shortcuts [i.e. Ctrl+z (Undo) and Ctrl+y (Redo)] don't work, well Ctrl+z does but not Ctrl+y for UNDO -- i betcha it's a proprietary feature that Google has protected and for good reason too, it's *real* handy. Thanks anyway for trying anyway.
Ctrl+y doesn't even work for you on this site?
Note that Firefox doesn't allow Redo until you first Undo. In other words, Firefox doesn't use Redo to repeat the last action, only to undo the last undo, if that makes sense.
i forgot which is X and which is Y, but only the UNDO works under Firefox --
After using undo, is redo available on the classic Edit menu? You can tap the Alt key to activate the menu bar if you do not normally display it.
If it's available (not grayed) but Ctrl+z is not working to activate it, maybe an add-on is intercepting that key combination. Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
What Firefox locale do you use?
Sometimes errors creep in and shortcuts gets changed, so undo may now be a different shortcut.
