What cor-el wrote in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1060006 is partially helpful.

Now I can prevent deleting the google cookies, but I just want only to keep the cookie witch stores the search settings. Specific the Google Instant predictions, never show instant results. and 50 results per page. All other cookies I prefer to be deleted after quitting firefox. If the cookies were stored individually in a map, you could make them read only. But they are stored in a sqlite file/database, so this is not possible. Pity. Is there still a workaround to archive what I want?

Firefox doesn't have a "per-cookie" protection feature that exempts individual cookies from removal.

There are numerous cookie-related add-ons. Two which seem to have the ability to "restore" cleared cookies are the following; I haven't tried them myself:

By the way, I'm assuming you want to preserve the google.com PREF cookie, but you might want to clear it, then reset the preferences, just to make sure it's exactly what you want before saving it.

Back to the question: Yes something like this. Do you say that there are add-ons who are cookie related. They preserve some settings, clear the sqlite file and put those preserved settings back in the sqlite fiel? And Yes, the google.com PREF cookie is probably the cookie I was looking for.

If you go to the top of the page and find your username, the drop-down menu allows you to access your profile, which as a link to all threads you have posted in.

I don't know how those add-ons work, but my thought was if you have Firefox set to clear cookies between sessions (for example, in Privacy Options, with "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history", setting "Keep until: I close Firefox") then the add-on could re-establish the PREF cookie when you start up again.
