I used Firefox with my email provider (juno) because I could save the email page correctly, getting links and pictures as desired. Other browsers (ie & chrome) save the folder list rather than the actual email content. When an email page download resulted in a fail, I could select the retry on the downloda progress box and it would succeed in downloading the page. Up until about a month ago (2 versions of Firefox? just updated to v43.0.2 tonight) this worked. Now it seems all the email pages fail on the initial download, and when I select the retry button, it saves the folder list, not the actual email content. Also, when other (non-email) pages fail to download now, and I select retry, the file saved does not appear as the original page. There are a list of links at the top and the text follows below. It does not follow the formatting of the original page.

I think I stumbled onto the solution to saving email web page, complete failures. I am moving to a new Windows 10 Upgrade, so I installed another Win7 home on a different partition. This new Win7 responds much quicker than the original one. I was able to save one of the failed email pages from Firefox with web page, complete on the new Win7 successfully. I went back and tried to save one of the other failed email on the original system, and it still fails to save. It seems to just take a really long time to save the page. Then just times out and reports a failure. I thought it had something to do with slower response on the library wifi, but it does the same thing on a private home wifi. The original Windows 7 installation must be broken.

Are you using Web Page, complete when saving?

Other options include Web Page, HTML only which won't be saving "everything" like images and css files. When opening that saved page from where you saved it, it would be just text.

I use this - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/unmht/ - to save complete webpages in ONE FILE which includes the images and css files, so when I go to view the saved file it is complete.

Yes, I use Web Page, complete when saving the email pages, as well as other pages I save. I haven't found single file saves very compatible with other browsers, so I don't usually use html only. The whole point of saving email is to get images and links on the pages. So I don't save these as text either.

Sorry, that's all I have for you. I wonder if that is only a problem with Juno webmail? And if you are viewing and saving using the "Printer Ready" option, if Juno has that feature?

I haven't had a problem with Comcast Xfinity webmail 'saves' from their "Printer Ready" view, but it has been quite awhile since I have saved as Web Page, complete. Been using UnMHT for quite awhile to have the "one file" instead of one HTM file with a bunch of other files filling the folders where I archive my communications.

Yes, I have found that MHTML format files saved by one brand of browser many times isn't compatible in other browsers. But that hasn't been an issue for me, as I have been using Firefox for 13 years, and until recently thought I would forever.

I'm glad you figured that out.
