When I delete messages from my inbox, they used to remain in Junk or Trash until I manually deleted them by emptying Trash folder, which was how I preferred. For some reason now they automatically delete themselves moments after being sent from my inbox. What have I done wrong? and how van I keep them in my junk/trash folders until I wish to empty them myself? Thanking you in your assistance, Mick (xr6rat).

Valittu ratkaisu

Right-click your account in the normal folder view in Thunderbird and choose Settings.

Select Server Settings under your account on the left side.

See my screenshot below. Make sure that the setting I have indicated is set to move deleted messages to the trash folder, not one of the other options.

Then select Junk Settings, and make sure that in the bottom part, it is set to move junk to the Junk folder, not to the Trash or somewhere else.
