Why am I not able to use Google Hangouts or watch videos on NBC.com using Firefox? I have no problems with IE.

When I try to watch a video on NBC.com, I receive the following message: "Sorry, we can't play this video in its intended experience because we're unable to load the accompanying message from our sponsors." Also, with Google Hangouts, I am unable to make a video call. I am instructed to install the plugin, I'm told the installation is complete, but when I try to video call, then it gives me the same message over again as though I had never installed it. I don't have any of these issues with IE. Is there something I'm missing?

Typically, this message is received when running ad blocking software/extensions. However, I don't see the presence of any such extensions from the info provided.

Suggestion: Try clearing your cache and deleting your cookies

Also, it would seem that Google has acknowledged that they are working on a solution to fix video chat functionality for Hangouts within Firefox soon.

I got my answer regarding Hangouts. Thank you very much! However, I was unable to solve the problem regarding watching video on NBC.com. My cache and cookies are automatically cleared every time I close Firefox. I just cleared them manually and I still can not watch NBC.com. If I have adblocking software, how would I know and where would I find it?

Typically ad blockers are installed via Firefox extensions/add-ons. But I don't see one listed in your system info.

Try launching Firefox in Safe Mode and see if it will play correctly.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-safe-mode

Safe Mode is a special Firefox mode that can be used to troubleshoot and fix problems. Safe Mode temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes) that might be causing problems. By comparing Firefox behavior in normal mode to its behavior in Safe Mode you may be able to pinpoint the cause of the problem.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. When you are in private browsing mode then Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is blocked.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.
