when I sign in to my email, keep getting new device sign-in verification request?

Since Firefox latest upgrade (which works perfectly and solves a lot of other problems!) I keep getting a "new device" security notification email ('alerte connexion nouvel appareil"), which never happened before. Strangely enough, it did happen with airbnb and other sites but now doesn't anymore.

I tweaked my cookies settings and added a permanent exception for mail.google.com but it doesn't seem to solve the problem.

I attached my troubleshooting info. I run Firefox on Linux (Voyager (ubuntu) 16.04)

Does anyone know how to solve this? Thank you!

Did you read the message? Does it have anything to do with sync?

Getting new device sign-in verification request means that something is trying to access your data somewhere.

Thank you for your reply,

Yes, I read the message.

Nothing in the message gives me a clue to why this is happening. I have also tried to find an answer on the gmail side but it seems to be a problem with Firefox, since I get it with other websites as well.

Could you be more specific as to how could sync affect this? Thank you!

Here is the message (in French):

Connexion sur un nouvel appareil Un utilisateur vient de se connecter à votre compte Google à partir d'un nouvel appareil Linux. Nous vous envoyons cet e-mail pour vérifier qu'il s'agit bien de vous. CONSULTER L'ACTIVITÉ Vous avez reçu cet e-mail pour vous informer de modifications importantes apportées à votre compte et aux services Google que vous utilisez.

Apparently there is no way to tweak gmail's security settings, I keep getting these emails since Firefox's latest update.

Okay. The message says this is about your Google account. Have you added something to Google?

If not: Change Your Google Password NOW ! !

Thank you but you seem not to have read my initial message.

This keeps happening, not only with gmail but with other websites as well, and is strictly linked to Firefox on Linux.

When it happened with other websites that I use less often, it was OK, but it started happening with gmail only since Firefox last update, which means I get this everytime I check my email.

You should contact Google and ask them about this.

Please, understand hat I keep telling you :

This is a NEW problem, I keep getting these notification emails only since Firefox latest upgrade. There must be something that can be done on Firefox settings.

Some email services like Gmail and others may give such a message if you are logging in (or attempting to login) to email with different OS's and browsers and such compared to usual.

It's always the same device and always the same OS, and always with Firefox.

Are you clearing your cookies in Firefox, either manually or as Firefox is being closed?

Or, are you using Private Browsing in Firefox when you go to Gmail?
