I prefer the way pages look when "Override the colors specified by the page with your selections above" is set to Always. But of course this makes most add-ons unusable. Is there a set of rules I can add to userContent.css to have the same effect on webpages while leaving add-ons alone? It's not just a matter of text color; it also effects background images etc. And it looks much better than turning off styling completely.

You can change the look of the Browser but you can't change the look of sites you go to. The only changes you can do is use "userChrome.css" to change the browser looks and that is what you can do. But to change site content you don't have such privileges.
