private browsing is connected to gmail
Hi, I have the latest version of Firefox 67.0 installed on my computer. I open a new tab and connect to my gmail account. Then I open a private browsing tab. A new tab is showing like any other regular normal tab. I type google.com in the address bar. I see that the supposedly private browsing tab is connected to my gmail account. This should not be the case. Is there any option or setting I should switch on or off in order to retrieve a private browsing that does not behave like a normal tab?
Thank you for your help!

I've never seen private tabs in Firefox, only private windows. It looks like you've just opened a regular normal tab, not private tab.
Hi yoannfromparis, unless you use a "container" add-on, Firefox has two "cookie jars." Here's what I mean:
All the tabs in regular windows share the regular cookie jar which is saved to disk.
All the tabs in private windows share a private cookie jar, which is kept only in memory and emptied when the last private window is closed.
There should not be any cross-over between the two cookie jars.
Note: If you set Firefox to use automatic private browsing, then there are never any regular windows, so there is only the private cookie jar that all tabs will share.
If you need more separate cookie jars, you can consider using containers. Each container has its own cookie jar. More info: Multi-Account Containers.
Firefox does support private tabs, but doesn't and didn't expose this. There used to be an Legacy extension (Private Tab) that allowed to toggle PB mode of a tab via the right-click context menu and open a PB mode tab.
