How can I save a PDF directly to Google Drive, or print to Google Drive?

more options

Hi, I am slowly switching from Chrome to Firefox. These things I miss: 1. If I view a PDF in Chrome I can select via an extension "save to Drive". I don't see anything like in FF. 2. If I print from FF I don't have the option "print to Drive" 3. I miss a drive-extension (icon) where I can save anything to Drive I am currently reading ... Any ideas out there?

The obvious solution to have Drive on my PC does not work since I am in a corporate environment and Drive is not allowed to use.

Unfortunately, Firefox doesn't have a whole lot of builtin integration with Google. Because Chrome is owned by Google, they include integration with their services to gather customers.

In Firefox, your only option appears to be saving as a PDF and then manually uploading to Google Drive later. You can check to see if there is a Firefox add-on available to give you that functionality, but I couldn't find one.

To send the currently displayed PDF to the Google Docs viewer, which has a Save to Drive icon, you can use a bookmarklet.

This article describes the technique: https://webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/59880/how-to-save-a-pdf-which-is-directly-viewed-in-firefox-into-google-drive

You can install the bookmarklet from my page here: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/sumomarklets.html#gdocsview

For Save in PDF to Drive, you could look at this extension. It seemed to take a while to show up on my-drive, but it did eventually:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/fireprint-web-to-print/

The extension injects Google code into the page; there is a lot of web traffic to Google after you click the Print button. Not sure I would use it for a page that contains any sensitive information.
