Loading images from cache instead of sometimes downloading

Perhaps I do not have something set properly.

I have searched.

I post images to my personal website (upload to directory via FTP) and then post a link to the image in various forums to show progress on my projects.

After I submit the thread and the images load (takes a moment on my slow DSL) I expect the images to not have to load again the next time that I visit the forum page.

But, sometimes when I return to the page, all the images are reloading... over the aforementioned slow DSL.

This is true with the many forums that I use... posting the same links to images.

Suggestions on what I need to change so that the images load from cache instead of downloading a new copy?

Windows 10 / Firefox / like long walks on beaches.

Thank you advance. Steve

That kind of data would be stored in the cache. Your settings might be set to clear that.

You may be in Private Browsing mode or told Firefox not to remember.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Select what you want cleared leaving the others off.
