Windows 10 -

At a loss here: My primary password appears to be corrupted - it rejects my correct information - the enter-your-user-name-password dialog is showing up, seemingly, whenever it wants to -- open a new webpage, it shows up; attempting to open a password-protected WordPerfect doc, it shows up; etc., etc. - There are many (most of the) websites that I visit that do not need a log-in password -- but the dialog just keeps popping up repeatedly as if they did. Whatever that's about . . . - Going to Firefox / Settings / Passwords, the dialog again pops up (seems to be every time I hit ENTER, so I just CANCEL and keep trying to move ahead), so that means I can't even get into the settings to make any changes -- to reset the primary password requires logging-on using that very same password, which the dialog rejects

Would like to just remove it, since it's proving to be a pointless process.

How does one delete a corrupted password process?

Thanks for any information. Appreciated.

Are you using Sync as this is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password ?

Using Sync is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password. This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager and you need to enter the Primary Password to unlock the passwords and connect/login to the Sync account.

Can you access the about:logins page and enter the Primary Password when prompted ? Do you see login related messages in the Browser Console when you access about:logins ?

This response makes absolutely no sense. I have no clue what "using Sync" is or means.

Thank you nonetheless.
