I don't think there is any Firefox setting to clear cookies every few hours. By default, cookies are valid until the expiration set by the website, and you have the option to change that to your entire current session (should work fine), or not to be saved at all (won't work with Yahoo). You can set Firefox to remove cookies when you exit, but it doesn't sound as though you are exiting.

If you are using Private windows, your cookies won't cross from one to another, so that could be an issue. But that wouldn't explain what you see in IE. IE and Firefox store their respective cookies completely separately.

Do you have any external security or privacy software that could be affecting your Yahoo cookies -- either HTML/browser cookies, or Flash local storage objects ("Flash cookies")?

Also, Yahoo! seems to be sensitive to some details of your connection, and might invalidate your login if something changes that suggests a session hijack. If you are using any anonymizing software that might rotate your IP address or other connection parameters periodically, this could be an issue for using Yahoo.

Yes, the Mozilla forum is fine but the FF one does not work. It is OK as I will go through Mozilla for all my FF concerns. Thank you for replying.

May I ask, why does the search bar in Firefox make me type slowly or else it assumes another search word. If I want school for example and do it quickly it does - scatter or some other word. I have to type in slow motion.

Do you mean the address bar (URL area) or the search bar (box with the search engine icon at the left)? The address bar has an "autofill" feature which shows previous URLs, and the search bar has an "autosuggest" feature which shows suggestions from Google. Either or both could be turned off if they are messing up your typing.

Using Bing, I found a solution that seems to work; tools, options, advanced, use hardware acceleration....

I was referring to the main search box on FF, enhanced by Google, which appears on my homepage - Comcast.net. I am sorry about not including this information in my previous message - I forgot to think twice before clicking once and it was an after thought. Incidentally, I have been a n explorer user for years but as I begin to learn about Firefox I am beginning to use it more often. At first the default font was too small but I have luckily been conquering all the little issues that prevented me from using it.
