Please remember: Firefox is free software managed by Mozilla Foundation, a non-profit organisation.

So if you downloaded Firefox and it was bunbled with that software, you probably downloaded it from a non-official source.

Mozilla website is the official trusted source for downloading Firefox binaries, and users are encourage to download the browser from there to prevent fakes or malware installations.

Next time, download firefox from http://www.getfirefox.com/ - easy to remember, isn't it.

Regarding the software you got:

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
