My problem ...

Q1 - Sync resets options every time I want to use it. => https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-sync-troubleshooting-and-tips#w_firefox-sync-resets-every-time-i-close-firefox_2 doesn't solve the problem!

Q2 - Sync doesn't delete bookmarks => On the used devices it recreates the bookmark after next sync

Q3 - Sync produces dupes => When changing a detail, moving bookmarks to a new folder or similar ... it creates the old ones again on the used device and on the other devises all chaged ones as dupes because of question 2

Not a single hint from here helped. GB

PS: Only positive I can say about "the new sync" - it doesn't mess arround in such size as the early versions. ;-(

PPS: Just createt a new folder ... synced 4 times by hand ... nothing synced to the other 2 running devices. %-O

Hello,

To find the correct solution to your problem, we need some more non-personal information from you. Please do the following:

  1. Use ONE of these methods to open the Firefox Troubleshooting Information page:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click on help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information.
    • Type about:support into the Firefox address bar and press the enter key.
  2. At the top of the Troubleshooting Information page that comes up, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
  3. Now, go back to your forum post, right-click in the reply box and select Paste from the context menu (or else click inside the reply box and press the Ctrl+V keys) to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

If you need further information about the Troubleshooting information page, please read the article Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Well ... from which device you need that?

They are all 33.1.1 (on WinXP and Win7) but totally different - versions filled up with zero to 30 plugins!

No hint ... so no help?

Anyone an idea when sync starts to work properly?

Or an advice on a classic bookmarkmanager as an alternative?

_Please!_

Very few users have mentioned problems with Sync creating duplicates like that. The most common cause seemed to have been when the user also used Xmarks. Maybe the Classic Bookmark Manager causes the same problem?

I'm reading'bout Xmarks "first time" ... the CBM was last used after changing multiple systems one after one from Netscape/Firefox/IE/Opera to Firefox as "standalone". ;-(

Only "old" AddOns with direct contact to the bookmarks I ever used are - Bookmark Deduplicator - Bookmark Duplicate Detector
