Why are you using Firefox 15.0 now? It used an older version of Sync - the Firefox 29 and later versions use a different, newer version of Sync that uses a different type of account - https://accounts.firefox.com/signup The old and the new version aren't compatible with each other.Users can update a Sync account to the new version, but there's no way to "go back"; as it appears you may be trying to do with that old Firefox 15 version.
Also, you absolutely need your password, without it you can't logon to Sync and if you should happen to change your password - all your data is wiped from the Sync server. The password is used as a part of the encryption method for data. Without the correct password being entered, that data is useless - no way to decrypt your data when it is retrieved from the Sync server.
As guigs2 mentioned, update to Firefox 35 and try to logon to Sync thru that version. Forget about "updating" your account. If you were using Firefox 34 before, you already had the new Sync account. But you better have your account password, because if you do "reset" that account with a new Password your data will be gone.

Hi mohybanger, Thank your for your question. I understand that you are trying to recover your sync account to sync back data after a Firefox reset. The old data should also be recoverable in a folder on the desktop called "Old Firefox Data" however since you are on an older version of Firefox it might not.
You need a recovery key in order to restore data from the old account, and since the account is not recognized it may not be there. If it is, please consider:
- updating to Firefox 35.0.1, the latest version of Firefox.
- Recovering important data from an old profile
- Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more
