Hello. I just bought a new computer and am using the latest version of Firefox. I logged in to sync to transfer all of my bookmarks and passwords, but so far nothing has transferred and it has been two days. I've logged out and back in to sync and nothing has happened. I do get a confirmation saying that sync will transfer momentarily, but then nothing happens beyond that.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I did FORGET my password for sync since it had been a while since I'd had to use it. Beyond that, there were no issues after I was able to log in.

Sorry, but as a security precaution your Sync data is wiped from the server when a new password is requested. So - yes - your data is lost from Sync.

As far as the old PC goes, the old hard drive may still work if you plug it in as an external drive using an inexpensive (~ $25) IDE to USB converter cable / power supply. Just set Show Hidden Files & Folders Folder options in the Control Panel (or whatever that feature is called in Win 8) and look for your old Firefox Profile folder.

Which is located in this path, which isn't an exact "path-to": C:\Users\<Windows>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<ProfileName>\ https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile

Do you still have the old computer?

The old computer is not functioning because of a dead motherboard.

Did you have any problems when trying to connect to Sync on that new computer? Like needing to request a new Password for Sync?

Should I just consider all of my bookmarks and passwords lost? It's now been 3 days and I've logged in a few times with the same result.
