Sounds like your browser.newtab.url pref was changed.
This extension will reset certain prefs to the default - browser.newtab.url - is covered. See "About this Add-on" for more details. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
It will run automatically and then disappear.

Thank You so much the-edmeiter . I have been trying everything and you solved it with a simple add-on.I even saved the link in case I get hijacked again.
