gasbuddy.com in their CLASSIC version, Firefox does NOT work
So, I wrote to gasbuddy.com and they said "we have MANY Firefox users UNable to use gasbuddy.com; use Chrome. Note for me, on Chrome no problem. To be clear, the initial prices DO how on gasbuddy in Firefox. However, when I select the "classic" version of gasbuddy, in the upper right corner of the gasbuddy site/ the site displays the stations/brand/location but NO prices. In Chrome, gasbuddy classic works fine. Why this IS an issue- in the classic version, gasbuddy shows many brand gas stations around 20-- by their price relative to my zip code. In the initial NOT classic gasbuddy/ you only see about 4 stations per zip code/ and no way to see all the brands like Shell, Chevron, etc.. To see Chevron, Shell, etc. stations near my zip code- I MUST select the CLASSIC version of gasbuddy. Gasbuddy said MANY users of Firefox have this problem...so use Chrome.
It seems odd Firefox won't work on classic gasbuddy. thank you

This page has an unusual design: As shown in the attached screen shot, rather than using text for the prices, they use slices of a background image. Can you load the image?

One possible reason not to see background images even in Firefox's Safe Mode is if you override website colors. You can check that setting here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content
Click the "Colors" button and you will see a selector with three choices:
Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above:
- Always
- Only with High Contrast themes
- Never
If you are using either of the first two settings, try the third one to see whether that makes any difference.

When I enter a zip code into the "classic" gasbuddy.com it actually refers me out to a different website. That page works fine. For example:
- http://www.newyorkgasprices.com/index.aspx?fuel=B&area=Manhattan&area=New%20York%20City&area=Manhattan,New%20York%20City
- http://www.oaklandgasprices.com/index.aspx?fuel=C&area=Berkeley
Do any of those pages work for you?
If you haven't already, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
Hello. I tried your links to Los Angeles and others in CLASSIC gasbuddy...still won't work. NO prices show, as I said/only the station locations, NO price. As for restart with addons disabled, I searched all the options on my HELP section of Firefox, there is NO option to restart with addons disabled shown.
That's strange. Restart with Add-ons disabled should be available on both the "classic" Help menu and the new "?" menu (locations in the attached screen shot). Unless you already started Firefox in its Safe Mode using the Shift key method??
I found it. I restarted with addons disabled. I retried gasbuddy classic/ still NO prices/gallon show up.
And as I said, in Chrome prices DO show up in classic gasbuddy

The new website doesn't redirect to a local website as the then version does once the user specifies their "location".
Both are working for me on Firefox 39.0 Win7.
The new interface seems to work better with GeoLocation "allowed" for that website - to pin point where you are located. then does allow you to bookmark the old site with your location in the bookmark. Where the current site might be be saving a cookie on the device with the location information if they type their "location" via "search", rather than have "location" in a bookmark. Using the new interface, If the user clears data when Firefox closes they have to set their location each time they visit that website - or at least that's how I see it working.
Thank you for trying. So that is not the issue- it finds my location fine--and lists gas stations near to my zip code. but it does NOT show ANY prices. According to the people AT gasbuddy.com--who just emailed me yesterday, MANY Firefox users have the SAME issue and have told gasbuddy. His only answer was "use Chrome". Again, on the NEW version of gasbuddy, I get located and prices do show up in Firefox, this issue is when I select the "classic" version.
for the record- I have a old Presario V6000 with XP. at this time can't $ get a new computer. At my place we have "hi" speed connection, but sometimes the signal strength isn't great/however even when our signal strength is "Excellent", this issue on classic gasbuddy persists anyway.
Thank you for trying.

Wow. yes it worked. The never on the color select, fixed it. how about that. You really know your Firefox. thanks
