I am watching a video stream anywhere, whether it be on twitch, youtube, crunchyroll, or any other video streaming website, the video image will stop but i can still hear the video audio. About a second or two later the video will resume in a fast forward manner to catch up with the audio again. If anyone can help that will be highly appreciated.

Add Netflix to that list (using the app in Windows 10), and Facebook. It looks like any html5 video causes it. Also, I can open the same video in the Edge browser in Win 10 and it will play flawlessly, so I suppose it is somewhat better at displaying html5 video..

Youtube was also in that list, until I found the addon Youtube Flash Video Player. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/youtube-flash-video-player/ If I had a way to force that on other sites, I'm fairly confident I wouldn't have any trouble.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

For what it is worth Rpvicioso, I disabled hardware acceleration *in Firefox* and it started working again for me, which solved my issue with Facebook and so far everything else I've tried to play. It's worth a shot if you haven't tried yet (none of the suggestions I've found say to do this so far).

Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Unfortunately it won't help with Netflix for me since it is within the app, but I'll keep trying to find a way I guess.
