Superstart plugin does not open in a new tab after i installed Firefox newest update.

Today i got a message Firefox telling me to update, at first i didn't want to but then i clicked update anyway (and i Regret it) what happened is that now my Superstart plugin is not working well, it opens when i first launch Firefox but when i press open new tab is does not open anymore so i don't know if this is something to force us use your implemented fast launch or what but it needs a fix very fast! Make a new option in options tab in a way that i can add a link to what i want to see in new tab. There is only that option for the home not for the new tab.

The browser.newtab.url pref is no longer supported in Firefox 41 and later, so you can no longer use this to set the new tab page.

You can look at this extension to set the new tab page:

You can set the new tab URL setting via the Options/Preferences of the extension on the about:addons page.

Look at this extension to use the home page:

Classic Theme Restorer includes this feature as well. In CTR version 1.3.9 you can find the "New tab page url" in the Tabs (1) window.

You can use these special pages for the new tab page or use the URL of a web page.

  • the default new tab page with the tiles is about:newtab
  • the default home page is about:home
  • for a blank page you can use about:blank
  • for Super Start you can use about:superstart
