I have Adblock Plus installed on my PC Windows 10 for many months. I'm on the latest version of Firefox 45.0.1. Over the past week I keep getting a message to allow installation of Adblock Plus updated version 2.7.2. I check the box to allow update but I noticed it keeps getting disabled. I have to keep going in and enabling it. I checked the Adblock Plus version I have installed and it is 2.7.2.

Why does this keep happening? Thanks for the help.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

After, restart Firefox.

See "Corrupt extension files":
