Thunderbird is downloading emails when I the applications opens, then a few minutes later it downloads the emails again. On a couple of occasions I have had the emails downloaded three times and once four times. These email should have been deleted from the server (verizon.net) after the first download. How do I correct this.

I understand Verizon migrated their mail platform to AOL.

The migration windows closed 17th October. Is that when the problems started?

See https://help.aol.com/products/aol-mail-verizon and https://www.verizon.com/support/consumer/email

It may be you need to have a discussion with Verizon and update your settings in Thunderbird for your new AOL account.
