What happened to the back history option in Android when you held down the back button?
It used to be that I could see the history of pages when I held down the back button, so I could jump back or forward several pages. A real life saver on mobile with multiple redirects. Am I missing something?

Back history option works for me on Firefox 53 for Android 7.1.1
I don't think so, however I never used it. Personally I used the History list in the new tab option. Can you try a new tab and see if the same functionality is in the History tab?

Shoot, that's the pair of versions I'm using. It just won't come up anymore. It just brings up the settings button (the one you access by tapping the dots in the top right). guigs said

History works fine! What I mean is that it used to bring up a little block with a list of pages you've loaded on that tab, like right clicking the back button on the desktop version. Then, instead of hitting the back button repeatedly, you could select what page to go to, or jump back and forth. All without trying to rifle around the entirety of your history.
I just tried it and it works perfectly on my Google Pixel. It brings up a little block at the bottom of the browser and let's me jump to a selected point.
I just got it to work, thank you wrender.
Emmane, it looks like in your System details that Firefox is still on version 52. If you have updated from the Google Play Store since you posted your question, please ignore that comment.
Try this:
- Open a new tab, do a search and click a few new web pages
- Tap on the three button menu once
- Then long tap on the arrow pointing to the left(back) until the timeline shows up.
If there is a site where you see this is happening it may be a new use case. It could also be device specific (ex: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1304688) What kind of mobile device are you using?
