It is 8-14 and am still getting 54.0.1 is the latest version? Using win 8.1.

Yes as of August 14th Firefox 54.0.1 is still the latest release version of Firefox for Mac, Windows and Linux. We plan on releasing a Firefox 54.0.2 sometime later this week. We are waiting for final testing results on 54.0.2 before releasing.

Yes as of August 14th Firefox 54.0.1 is still the latest release version of Firefox for Mac, Windows and Linux. You can manually update to 55.0.1 if you wish (we released 55 and then 55.0.1 briefly but then found some issues so we stopped automatic updates; this is normal!) but there is no automatic update to it. We plan on releasing a Firefox 55.0.2 sometime later this week. We are waiting for final testing results on 55.0.2 before releasing.
