The mail to (envelope icon) defaults to Outlook but I use Firefox. I have tried To set Forefox's mail client (Menu>Options>Applications) but I don't have any mail applications or mailto listed. When I search for mailto, nothing shows up. When I go to the Windows 7 operating system settings (Start>Default Programs>>Programs) Gmail isn't listed and I can't remove Outlook or change any of its settings (can't uncheck mail). The legacy extension I was using (Email this! Bookmarklet extension) no longer works and the link to find a replacement doesn't offer one. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you also search the Windows help forum if there was another solution to your default email setting? It sounds like this is something of Windows doing.
