I have a web page where the size (width) of elements is not display as per the code - or what is shown in Computed or when you hover over the line in Inspector.

This page displays fine in Chrome, Safari and IE.

For example the body width should be 960px and ts actually 776px. An image should be 512px and its 411px.

Did you make sure that you aren't zooming the page(s).

You may have accidentally zoomed web page(s). Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

  • View -> Zoom -> Reset (Mac: Command+0 (zero))

Thank you so much - that was the problem. When I first read your reply I thought, no cant be that (even though that was what it seemed like ie page was intact layout wise but scaled down) because the other 5 pages were displaying fine.

I didn't know a page would remember a zoom in (which I don't remember ever doing on these pages but I must have).

Again thanks and regards.

Firefox changes what it tells websites about your window.innerWidth and screen.width (and corresponding heights) as your change the zoom level. I have a little demo on this page: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/resolution.php

Thanks again - very helpful.
