Add-ons Permission: Access your data for all websites?
Why do so many add-ons and extensions require this permission? According to Mozilla Support page, this permission allows the extension to read information I enter into website like username and password. How is this not a breach of privacy? I am talking about add-ons and extensions like ad-blocker and many video downloaders.

hi, all addons that interact with arbitrary websites will require this permission - this enables them to interact with the content of the page (like blocking ads for adblockers or gathering media content for downloader extensions).
Thanks for the reply.
But Mozilla Support page says they could gather information such as passwords. How can I make sure that they do not?
Don't use passwords./ Read the Reviews on the page of the Extension and see what others say. Google the person or..... Use a Firewall and a A/V program. Don't use the extension.

Hi, sorry, a outage or something left that cut off while I was typing.
Don't use passwords in Firefox if you do not trust, use a Manager. These are the best free ones : https://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/the-best-password-manager-1325845 and if you do not want to use a free one : https://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2407168,00.asp Read the Reviews on the page of the Extension and see what others say. Google the person or..... Use a Firewall and a A/V program. Don't use the extension.

What does it mean: "Dont use passwords in Firefox.."?
Are you saying don't let Firefox store my passwords for websites, or are you saying don't open websites that require passwords in Firefox?
