Roboform add-on keeps unticking "Remember logins and passwords for webistes". I contacted Roboform and they admitted their software does it but didn't agree to disable this feature in their software. How can I stop Roboform from doing this without uninstalling Roboform? By the way I looked for the file user.js as per one of the solutions offered on the forums but the file doesn't exist.

Hi, sorry. No idea. As you say it is Roboforms issue. We do not know nor do we do Roboforms support. I would suggest you find another add-on.

Please Mark this as Solved.

Seems you didn't understand the issue. I'm not asking a support for Robofrom software. The add-on is changing and interfering with firefox settings that is not related to the purpose of the add-on. Firefox should not allow add-ons play with the settings or at lease have a solution to fix it. I hope someone else on the forum have a solution for this.

Just to make clear. Roboform is causing your issue. Disable Roboform. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/roboform/ You have answered your own question. as there is a abuse shortcut on the URL above where you can state they refuse.

Support Volunteers can't make changes to Firefox but can answer questions such as : how being treated by Roboform and it's issue : To submit suggestions for new or changed features, may I suggest: Feedback: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ or https://discourse.mozilla.org/c/add-ons If you have a bug, file a bug report. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Bug Writing Guidelines : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines

The answer is not what you like, but it is the answer.

Disable, report them, file bug report, go to the above add-ons forum and make comments and make suggestions in feedback.

On this forum others have complained about similar issues regarding other add-onns and were provided real solutions to solve the problem caused by those add-onns. Why my issue is not given the same effort? If you don't know how other support people may know. Let others weigh into this and let's see unless you're the only support person here. By the way this is the first time ever I post in a forum and didn't expect this at all.

That is how the RoboForm Password Manager extension works. You have the choice of either use this extension or disable this extension and use the builtin Firefox Password Manager.

See:

The behavior described by you is by design in Chrome and Firefox.
A user can disable RoboForm extension to enable the built-in password manager in the browser.
The user is intended to use either at a time, not both.

Not a standard part of Firefox. It is an optional file that the user needs to create himself/herself and place that file in the Profile folder. And sometimes in the past a rogue extension may create a user.js file, which can't happen with Firefox 57 and later versions.
