Solution choisie

  • 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'General'
  • uncheck: 'When thunderbird launches show the start page in the message area.
  • click on OK

Thunderbird is a free program, but needs to be kept up to date for security reasons and debugging etc. Many helpers do offer some time freely including those in this forum and some who have developer skills, but they rely on users making donations to pay for some services. It may be annoying to see everytime, but I'm sure you can understand why they need to ask :)

The info above should switch it off.
