I often use some images compressed in jpeg 2000 format (.jp2) It's very useful as it offers a high compression level, even in lossless mode. As of now, whenever I need to watch a .jp2 image, I have to download it and open it in a software (and then use the file explorer to delete it if the image is not the right one). It would be much comfortable to be able to see these images directly in the browser and not wasting time to download and open file with another software to see if the image matches my needs.

Is there a plugin/add-on that might display jpeg 2000 images in Firefox ? (or best, is it planned to implement this function in later releases ?)
