Dragging files over FireFox browser will not allow it to attach in an email

I have always dragged and dropped files into my email (outlook) and recently started using FireFox to run a specific browser based program for work. The way my windows are arranged on my screens I need to drag a file from the far left to the far right (into my new email message) of my screens, crossing over FireFox. If my mouse crosses over the FireFox browser while doing this the attachment does NOT attach into the email. If I minimize FireFox and follow the same path it will attach as normal. If I drag it across the bottom windows taskbar, the only clear path from left to right that is not over FireFox, it will attach as normal. I have tried with different types of files (pdf, images, excel, word) with the same results.

Is there a way to disable ALL the drag and drop features in FireFox so this "dragging over" FireFox isn't an issue any longer?

I know there are more simple work arounds, such as rearranging my windows so I don't have to drag files across FireFox, but I have had my windows arranged the same way for 5+ years and after trying to do this for an hour it's just not going to work out for me. I can run this browser based program in Chrome (which is what I normally use) but there are issues with that as well when opening web links from my email. I would like to continue to use FireFox for my browser based pos system (which is the only thing I will use FireFox for) but the inconvenience of not being able to drag files across it will probably prompt me to try a different browser. Any help for a fix would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running the current release (Firefox 67), or the Extended Support Release of Firefox 60, or a different version?

In Firefox 67, I can't replicate this issue dragging a .docx file from the desktop over Firefox to a new draft Outlook message (file attaches fine when I drop it on the message body area). I tested using both Firefox's about:blank page and a page with one drop zone on it, dragging either over the page alone or over the toolbar area and then the page.

Note: my test was all on one monitor.

Are there other circumstances we need to consider?

Version 67.0.02

And now of course it is working just fine when I am trying it. I installed FireFox yesterday and it hasn't worked up until now. I have been googling and fooling around with things so maybe I fixed it without realizing it, who knows. I've logged out and closed out of the browser program and closed FireFox and reopened it a half dozen times in the last hour showing a co-worker the differences between the browser based program and the stand alone program so maybe it just worked itself out.

Either way, thank you jsher2000 for the help and I'll keep you posted if it reverts back to not working, but fingers crossed you won't hear from me again.
