I can access the folders on the computer using a LiveUSB.

Could you try the path(s) in this article -- if it shows the wrong OS, expand the Editing Tools in the left column and use the OS selector there to switch the article to Linux:

In Linux the main Firefox profile folder that stores personal data is in the hidden "~/.mozilla/firefox/" folder. The secondary location in "~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/" is used for the disk cache and isn't important.

.mozilla/firefox/nkhyqhk9.default won't paste into my USB hard drive.

This is the error message: Filesystem does not support symbolic links

Hi 813bruce, did all the other files get copied, it just skipped one? I don't know what a symlink would be used for in the profile folder. ??

Yes

As far as I can tell, everything else copied. The only error window was the one about asking to skip that file.

It is a file called "lock" in .mozilla/firefox/nkhyqhk9.default

It's probably better NOT to copy the lock file, so I guess you can declare success.
