I have several email accounts managed by Thunderbird for many years. One a sky mail ac runs through yahoo mail. Recently the mail service was down. Since then Thunderbird is asking for my password every time I launch it. Thunderbird is aware of the password.

Thanks Martin

You get prompted after a failed connection attempt. What might be causing that is just a guess. But I suggest you try ticking the saved password in the dialog asking just to be sure the password Thunderbird is storing is the correct one.
