Adding shortcut to a website fails to show up on home screen at Step 3, sometimes Step 4; is there another way?
Running Firefox 68.2.1 on a custom version of Pie call'd Havoc-OS. While viewing the desired page, Menu > Page > Add Page Shortcut is gray'd out. Also tried bookmarking the desired page, then long pressing the page in bookmark list brings a menu with "Add Page Shortcut" available; but, tapping it fails to actually place any shortcut icon on my Apex (my default launcher) homescreen. I have had success with past firefox versions on every past Android version since Jellybean. Is there a workaround? (If needed, I can probably achieve root access via Magisk.)

Hi
This is something that does work in Android, but I cannot speak for forks such as HavocOS. You may wish to contact the team at that project as it may be an outstanding issue related to their user interface.
But, is there some OTHER way to get a shortcut?
Hi
The two ways that you mention in your question are the methods that I would recommend to add a shortcut to the Android homescreen.
