7-16-2020 I use my Thunderbird with 3 emails. I DO NOT SAVE MY PASSWORDS so I must enter them every time I load Thunderbird. Many times I mistakenly close my Thunderbird. This is problematic in that now I have to enter all three passwords again to open. It is intrusive in my work when I did not intend to close my email.

1 - IS THERE A SETTING/OPTONS FOR THUNDERBIRD TO ASK WHEN CLOSING

' "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CLOSE THUNDERBIRD?"'
or is there some solution for such that does not require another app to control such.

2 - If there is no such setting I RECOMMEND such a warning be available in the OPTIONS with a YES or NO that the user could activate!!!!

I am sure there are many that have more than 3 emails and would find this beneficial.

thanks bdreagan

1. No there is not.

2. The decision not to implement such a thing was made 13 years ago https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39057

Most of us use the password password manager to save email passwords. Those that are concerned for the privacy of the passwords at rest use a master password to encrypt the passwords in storage a second time. So they can not be access programmatically without user input of the password.

You could use the Minimize on Close add-on so that clicking the Close button accidentally would not close TB, and require an extra, deliberate step to exit.

If you are closing accidentally by clicking X in the window, enable the new system tray feature in Options
