The IMAP server does not support auth method after update of TB
Hi, After last update of thunderbird to version 78.2.2 I have problem with connecting to exchange server. It says “The IMAP server does not support the selected authentication method....". Nothing changed on server side. . I tested everything. please help me with it.

Tohle je spíše pro autory Thunderbirdu: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org Těch vad na kráse Mozillích produktů je tolik, že já stále funguju na verzi TB 60. Pokud ti to před aktualizací fungovalo, možná bude krok vzad krokem kupředu.
Same problem. Cannot access IMAP account that was no problem before the update. I downgraded to 68.9.0 and IMAP access works.

Same problem (same error message). Downloaded previous version V68.12.0 (not exactly easy to find) and re-installed after uninstalling V78, but profiles including Local Folders lost. Will not be trusting TB upgrades for a while ...
Wha' happen??

V mojom prípade je posledná (pre mňa použiteľná) verzia Thunderbird 60.8.0 a tu už používam asi rok. Všetko čo potrebujem stále funguje. Aj v tvojom prípade ti bola odporúčaná verzia Thunderbird 60 a nie verzia 68.

Po nainštalovaní vypnite automatické aktualizácie: - Thunderbird - Nástroje - Možnosti - Spresnenie - Aktualizacie A tu zvoľte „Nevyhľadávať aktualizácie“

I was working well up until October 26, 2020...
I can access the email on FireFox, but I use it extensively for records on Thunderbird... I am not the first to experience this...
What is the fix?

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.domainname.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.
It only wants to do one address per domain name but it WAS WORKING before the upgrade! This is so upsetting!
Why can't they make a way for us to download OUR emails to OUR computer where they won't get lost! I'll buy the space on MY computer, but I NEED, REALLY NEED, MY EMAILS IN MY HANDS, NOT SOMEONE ELSE'S!
I have lost special pictures, emails from family and friends who have died and business connections that I now cannot get back because of this kind of problems!
Right now I need these former addresses because they are current BUSINESS emails of mine! HELP???
