hotmail crashes every 2 hours in firefox

more options

For the last 2 days I can log in to hotmail no problems at all, but after about 2 hours, I cannot scroll down, send or receive or delete mail. Edge refused to let me log out and logged me in even if I set it for clear all cookies, history etc, but it is working ok on chrome. Is this an update bug which is in the process of being fixed, or just a compatibility issue with win 10 64-bit pro / firefox?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

If there is still a problem,

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While you are in Troubleshoot(Safe) mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Are you leaving the browser open to Hotmail while working in another window, or are you leaving Hotmail open and doing nothing on the browser?

Is your computer going to sleep during this?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

As a test, disable your protection programs.

like I said, this only occurs in firefox, not chrome or other browsers. The computer is left idle and it may or may not happen. If the network goes down, it may or may not happen when it comes back up. BUT it only occurs in firefox and it only occurs in hotmail. With ebay / firefox, I sometimes have changes to the watching page, but this is because ebay has a few rogue servers, and it depends which one I log on through. With MS Edge, it refuses to let me log off hotmail, and refuses to delete hotmail cookies, so because of the security issues, I stopped using Edge. In short, firefox / hotmail bad, firefox / other websites good and chrome / any website good. This applies to both http and https sites. This morning, hotmail booted up in firefox, but all the email content was unavailable, and I could not delete or move anything and I could not scroll down. I deleted the cookies and history and opened up hotmail, and it has been fine all day. I clear my cache etc every time before I switch off, so when I log in everything is clear.
